One think to keep in mind is that some appliance stores will give you a discount if you buy an entire suite of appliances. For example, we got a fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave, all from the Frigidaire Gallery series. We got a $266 package discount from the appliance store, and a $200 rebate check from Frigidaire. So that was $400 off of the roughly $3000 cost of our appliances.

As for hardwoods, have you thought of laminate flooring that looks like wood? Much cheaper for a similar effect. This is what we put in our kitchen.

Everyone who has seen our floor in person is shocked that it’s laminate. We spent $3400 on flooring, but our kitchen is HUGE now, plus they had to do the connecting hallways.

That’s all I can think of for now, but feel free to hit up my ask with any questions. I’ve owned two houses and lived in either of them for several years. Longtime homeowner here. :)

So, I’m digging away in my herb garden with a shovel, and I bring up a big clump of dirt. All of the sudden, the dirt starts moving and there’s grey fur everywhere. Like something out of my own personal nightmare, there are FUCKING BALLS OF FUR THAT LOOK JUST LIKE MICE COMING OUT OF THE GROUND AT ME

So needless to say I scream bloody murder and run into my house, where I proceed to have the worst panic attack I have ever had. Even worse than the one at my in-laws last Christmastime. I couldn’t remember a damn thing my psychologist taught me, just got on my hands and knees basically screaming, crying and shaking. Mt. TFMH came in to check on me just the door opening scared the living shit out of me and set me off screaming again. It was about twenty minutes of the worst anxiety I’ve ever experienced. I feel kind of stupid about it now, but I swear to God, I was in mortal terror. I’m still shaking like a leaf.

It turns out, I dug up a nest of baby bunnies. O_O They’re all okay, I guess there’s six of them, and miraculously I managed to not kill or hurt any of them with my GIANT SHOVEL OF DEATH Mr. TFMH is going to talk to a neighbor of ours who’s a naturalist about what to do with them. I know we can’t touch them, but on the other hand, they can’t live in our garden either. Whatever the solution is, needless to say I’m not having anything to do with it. I’m not going out there again any time soon.
